Matt Soares

Bio

Matt Soares is currently pursuing his Doctorate from Texas Tech University and previously graduated from The University of Alabama with his MM in Trumpet Performance and received his BA in Music at Berry College.

While at The University of Alabama, Matt was involved in the Wind Ensemble and the Huxford Symphony Orchestra and was the trumpet teaching assistant for the Million Dollar Band. He was also a member of the faculty brass quintet at Mississippi State and the Starkville Symphony Orchestra. He would occasionally perform with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra as well.

After his schooling at The University of Alabama, he began teaching and freelancing in the Atlanta and Chattanooga areas, with students frequently winning honor band positions and playing jobs in the United States military. Matt was also a member of Jericho Brass and the Georgia Brass.

Matt currently resides in Lubbock, Texas where he maintains an in-person and online studio and performs in both the Texas Tech Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Texas Tech University Orchestra.
